FolkFire Seeks Personnel

The following positions are open (urgent ones in red):

  • Writers and Reviewers: Find and write about local folk groups, regular events, live and recorded music, or anything else which may seem appropriate.
  • Production: Paste in ads, deliver the finished edition to the printer, and call the printer and mailer to make sure that they deliver on time.
  • Assistant Editor: Work with our editor to find, assign, or glean material for the newsletter and web page.
  • Advertising: Find advertisers who wish to target the folk community. We pay commissions.
  • Layout: If you don't already use Quark, Use PageMaker (provided) on your own computer to put together the articles, pictures and listings. Training provided.
  • Mailing list manager: We are using MS Access, but if you prefer another system, fine. We will assist in the migration process. This job only takes a few hours a year.
  • Webmaster: Keep listings and calendars up to date, add to the articles archives, or even redesign it in your own image. If you are competent in HTML, Perl/CGI, Javascript, and CSS, this may be the job for you. Have fun! Take it off my hands. :)

We are all volunteers, and are quite informal, and you could design your own job description. If you believe you have something to offer, please do!

Might you be interested in serving as a FolkFire Board Member? We meet monthly to coordinate and plan.

Now is the time. Just let us know and we will put you to work in an area that will suit your interests.
